MASH for Apple Watch

A whole round of MASH fits on the watch, from the first question to the story at the end. You turn the Digital Crown to make the spiral, and your phone stays in your pocket.

It comes with MASH for iPhone, so there's no separate watch download. Version 3.6.0 gave it the look in the photo.

How a round goes

Here's a short game, screen by screen. The rules are the same as MASH on paper, on a screen the size of a coaster.

    Pick a length

    The first screen asks how long a game you want, short or medium. Pick short if the bus is already pulling up.

    Answer the questions

    Each question fills the screen with a Scott McMahon cartoon, and the counter says how many are left. Tap Answer 1 and work your way down to three.

    Turn the crown

    A watch face is too small to draw a spiral on, so you turn the Digital Crown and MASH winds it for you. Tap Get Results when you're done.

    Read your future

    Confetti falls over the house you got, and the story starts right under it. Scroll with the crown to read the rest. Ours opened with a breezy mansion.

Put MASH on your watch

The watch app comes with MASH for iPhone, and most watches install it on their own. If yours doesn't:

  1. Get MASH for iPhone, version 3.5.0 or later.
  2. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
  3. Find MASH under Available Apps and tap Install.
  4. Open MASH from the app grid on your watch.
