MASH is the fortune-telling game you played on the back of a notebook in fifth grade. Fill the categories, draw a spiral for your magic number, and watch answers get crossed out until one future is left. On the Mac you get the full classic rules in a native app window, with Scott McMahon's hand-drawn art staying sharp when you resize.
Version 2.0 is a rewrite. The old Mac build ran on web tech inside an app shell. This one is a real Mac app. It costs $4.99 on the Mac App Store. If you already own it, 2.0 is a free update.
What's in the Mac app
- Play Short (5 questions), Medium (10), Long, or a Custom game from all 21 categories
- Resize the window; the artwork scales cleanly
- Draw the spiral yourself with the trackpad or mouse, or let the app draw one
- Watch gel-pen strikeouts, or jump straight to the ending
- Stuck on an answer? Hit the dice, or search that category's suggestion list
- Set two to six answers per question in Settings, and choose which name lists you see
- Save stories, share them as an illustrated card, or have the story read aloud
- Put a passcode on Saved Stories if you share the Mac
- Keyboard shortcuts: Command-N for a new game, Command-S to save, Command-L for your library
