MASH 3.5.0: the Apple Watch app ships
We put MASH on the original iPhone in 2008. Version 3.5.0, November 6, 2025, is the first build that plays a whole round on the watch. The phone can stay in your pocket.
What 3.5.0 added
A companion app. Not a separate App Store listing, and not a watch-only download. You still install MASH for iPhone. Then the Watch app on that phone lists MASH, you tap Install, and the round runs on your wrist.
That is the whole feature. Fill the lists, get a magic number, watch the crossings, read the story. Same Mansion, Apartment, Shack, House joke, on a screen the size of a coaster.
What the watch does not replace
The iPhone app still holds more: extra categories, Saved Stories, the larger Scott McMahon art. Use the watch when you do not want to unlock the phone. Use the phone when you want the library later so you can prove the spiral really did promise a mansion.

Install it
- Update MASH on the iPhone to 3.5.0 or later.
- Open the Watch app on the iPhone. MASH shows up under available apps.
- Tap Install next to MASH.
- On the watch, find MASH in the app grid and start a round.
If the watch is set to automatically install new apps, MASH may appear without that tap. If it does not, the Watch app on the phone is the fix, not a second download.

- Apple Watch Series 5 or later
- watchOS 10.6 or later
- iPhone with iOS 15.6 or later
- MASH 3.5.0 or later on that iPhone
Older watches are out. We cut there because the round needs a screen that can show a category list without turning into a postage stamp.
What came after
Version 3.6.0, January 5, 2026, is the look: fullscreen question art by cartoonist Scott McMahon, heavier type, confetti when the story lands. Update the iPhone app and the watch app follows. 3.5.0 is still the version that put the game on the wrist in the first place.
